Mcafee drive encryption fatal error 0xee020002

After pressing the power on button and using password or fingerprint verification, a black screen appears with the message:. Firstly boot to safe mode by tapping F8 on startupGoto Safe mode with networking then once loaded to the link below and install the McAfee KB update for the solution to this issue. F8 does not work and neither does F5, which was another suggestion.

If i could only get into safe mode OR you can create a repair disk from another Windows 7 32bit machine that is working correctly. In the left pane, click Create a system repair discand then follow the steps. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. I am not sure what my next steps would be.

Is there anyway from the install CD that i can get to a safe boot desktop? Some people have suggested to download sp I don't know much about that. I wonder if i can boot from it? Didn't find what you were looking for?

We've applied this version of EEPC to all our previous Latitude models without issue, it's just this new model range. Go to Solution. We just purchased a few models and ran into the same issue with our McAfee Encryption server.

Not sure if this is related, but here was my fix. I worked on this for hours with our custom image and even the pre-installed OEM image. Always a fatal error after encryption. I tried downgrading and upgrading the BIOS. View solution in original post. Thanks for the reply, I had previously seen this article on the McAfee site but, it is not relevant as we are not using self encrypting drives and it was fixed in a prior version of Endpoint Encryption than what we are using.

I assume this is the first report of this with this model range? A customer just reported a similar error. It's a known issue. I've been told they are working on a fix. Hi Robert, Thanks for the reply, I had previously seen this article on the McAfee site but, it is not relevant as we are not using self encrypting drives and it was fixed in a prior version of Endpoint Encryption than what we are using. Hello people, A customer just reported a similar error.I've been using my X1 Yoga for about 7 months.

Each day when I start it up, I get the red Lenovo logo and then it quickly proceeds to the Windows log-in and I go about my work. The problem is that I don't know the password and didn't even set this up.

I have no idea why this encryption issue kicked in. It must have been pre-installed from the factory when I ordered it online. I called McAfee and they can't help me. Is this a company laptop? I have the same thing on my company issued HP. Different company though. Once I enter my company password it logs me into windows. If its not a company laptop did you buy it new from Lenovo? Did you buy used?

You must have access to the backup encryption key. After booting, select whether or not to start network support probably no for most users. Click "Go" at bottom left. Click "HP". You can leave the Authentication window open. Click "Go". You should now be able to access the files on your drive and move them to an external device. I'm just curious, in your opinion, do you think this client had data on this laptop that really needed to be encrypted?

He's sol btw. At this point, it's a wipe and reload. As noted above, this is the entire point of whole drive encryption. If I hadn't it would have been a matter of about six minutes before one of the bigwigs opted to enable it and proceeded to forget the password. Computer Repair, sorry to read about your client's password issue. You didn't specify the laptop but I am assuming it is a commercial laptop. HP's Support is very familiar with password issues as a number of members have been directed there.

For ProBooks and other HP commercial notebooks, you can call Hello there, i have the same issue i can not recovery the file for HP Drive Encryption, i have the recovery file but i can not locate it, when i press recovery and select drive it's blank, so how to recover the file from the flash or the hard disk??

How can I get all the data from Drive D? Is it possible to take the HDD and plugged with other computer to get the data? Using Drive Encryption to protect the data is designed to stop someone from doing exactly what you are asking to do.

Here is a thread similar to the posted question, see if that helps. I have not used the HP Drive Encryption but Microsoft BitLocker has a way to save the password or key file to allow the owner to recover in case of a problem. Maybe use that system instead. If the data and OS are encrypted by the same program and the encryption key is lost, then most likely all the data is locked.

If you have the encryption key saved so it can be used by another computer, then you possibly can unlock the data drive - d: and recovery the data with the other computer. If the encryption key was not saved, then most likely it cannot be recovered.

It's interesting. Yes, I have the encrypted key and keep in the safe place for recovery purpose. Let's say.

Drive C is for operating system and Drive D for data. Both drives are encrypted by HP Drive Encrypted. OS failed for some reasons and cannot boot to Windows.

Now I have the encrypted key. How can I get the data from Drive D? Do you have any documents? Or can you guide me step by step to get the data? Neither Hewlett Packard nor McAfee provide any warranties either explicit or implied that any encrypted files can be retrieved using DiskTech or any other tool.

Prior to encrypting any data, the user is advised to utilize backup utilities and perform frequent backups of their data to secure media. You must have access to the backup encryption key. The files on the hard drive are still encrypted when this retrieval process is completed, and you will not be able to boot from this hard drive unless it is rebuilt.

You may choose to store the hard drive in a secure location for future access to the files remaining on it. The files on the hard drive will not be accessible except through the DiskTech tool. The files on the self encrypting drive should now be accessible. The procedure will unlock the drive in most cases. You should deactivate Drive Encryption in the ProtectTools Administrator console to restore it to the proper state.

You may reactivate Drive Encryption after the state is restored, and your system should return to normal operation. You may choose to rebuild the operating system on the computer using OEM disks, or entering the HP Recovery Manager by pressing the F11 key during the boot process if the recovery partition remains on the machine. If the data cannot be retrieved using the DiskTech tool, you may contact HP Technical Support but it is doubtful there is anything more HP can do if you followed the correct procedures in this document.

I'm able to see all data. The computer unknow the devices. If you are following the document I posted, and are able to see the data, then it would stand to reason it can be copied to another media.
